crunch bar RFP

Crunch Bar®—formerly known as Nestlé Crunch®—is a classic milk chocolate and crisped rice candy bar. In 2021, we pitched and won the social media creative for the brand (and Butterfinger!), but never got a chance to put the winning work into action. This is the story of the winning pitch that somehow never saw the light of day.

crunch time

We set to work on a campaign approach that would redefine their existing TVC and social content ("Everyone's Crunching") into a more relatable viewpoint—which would also help push the brand toward a younger, "cooler" audience.

get crunching

Based on research that our Strategy and Community Management teams provided, we determined that their existing campaign scenarios were too big and unrelatable, which made the content feel inauthentic and forced. So we developed concepts that reflected the real lives and everyday moments of our audience, with a tweaked tagline: "Get Crunching".

CRUNCH AND ITS SIMPLE COMBINATION OF 100% MILK CHOCOLATE AND CRISPED RICE HELPS THE SMALLEST OF PROBLEMS AND REWARDS THE SMALLEST OF VICTORIES.

crunch in disguise

We continued our integration into everyday relevance using channels our audience loved—like YouTube, Twitter, and Reddit—in clever ways that wouldn’t flood feeds, but instead work within consumer behaviors.

These Twitter and Reddit concepts leverage and/or hijack conversations in a relatable way. They also provide additional content for the brand's channels.

After "winning" the business, months went by without a kickoff date. Ultimately, the new content never took flight and we were unable to bring these ideas to life. We never really did find out why. Womp womp.
